Discover a truly rare treasure in this stunning antique 18-carat gold pocket watch pendant, crafted by renowned Swiss watchmaker Paul Ditisheim, dating to the early 1900s. A master of precision and innovation, Ditisheim’s timepieces are celebrated for their superior craftsmanship and accuracy. This exquisite piece showcases his genius, featuring electric blue enamel and a captivating display of rose-cut diamond swallows in flight—designed to sparkle beautifully under candlelight.
The pocket watch offers versatility, allowing you to wear it two ways: highlighting the mesmerizing diamond swallows or showcasing the elegant enamel dial with rich blue Arabic numerals. A testament to Paul Ditisheim’s commitment to luxury and innovation, the fully functional mechanism reflects his groundbreaking work in watchmaking, particularly his advancements in chronometry and anti-magnetic designs.
Paired with an exquisite blue enamel bow brooch in 15-carat gold, this versatile set allows you to wear the pieces together or separately. Attach charms to the brooch’s dog clip, or use it as an extender to add length to your watch chains.
Stored in its original fitted box, this rare set remains in excellent antique condition. There is a tiny section of enamel loss at the base of the watch near the case hinge and some minor enamel wear on the bow brooch—only visible under close inspection. The watch mechanism is fully functional; twist the crown anti-clockwise to wind to the pocket watch. To set the time, push the button on the case near the crown and wind the crown clockwise. Both sides of the case can be opened by sliding a fingernail under the slightly larger lip.
The piece features hallmarks from the prestigious London Assay Office and includes a "PD" stamp for Paul Ditisheim and a "GS" mark from Stockwell & Company, a British Assay Agent, along with various engravings and stamps. These include "18.75" and "18C" for 18ct gold, model number "2943", and hand-engraved serial numbers "73380V" (pocket watch) and "73486" (bow brooch). The differences in numbers reflect the typical customs and manufacturing practices of antique watches and their accessories.
