A striking and rare Époque arrow pendant featuring a luminous 3-carat emerald cabochon at its centre.
The emerald is a mesmerising, intensely pure green with high transparency and even colour distribution, measuring 7.5mm in diameter and 4.5mm thick. It showcases natural inclusions and subtle age-related surface nibbles that add to its character. Notably, it has undergone minimal oil treatment—an attribute typically seen in only the finest emeralds, making a stone of this size and quality in an antique piece an exceptional and highly sought-after find
This remarkable piece is adorned with 22 antique diamonds—a mix of hand-cut rose and single cuts—totalling approximately 0.80-1ct, with some exhibiting minor wear, only visible under magnification.
The arrow, originally a brooch, bears the Parisian boar’s head hallmark on its silver section, indicating French origin. The arrow is backed in 9-carat gold, although some of the gold has been removed as part of the conversion process. A handcrafted 18-carat gold bail (7.5mm diameter) has been expertly added, transforming it into a stunning pendant.
Weighing 5.14g and measuring 2.62 inches (66.50mm) in length, this elegant antique treasure embodies history, craftsmanship and timelessness.
