The protecting evil eye and its brilliant aura are paired with the French phrase "Qu'il Veille Sur Vous" (May He Watch Over You) carved on a carnelian intaglio at the centre of this amulet. This age-old emblem ensures the wearer's safety and wellbeing by acting as a protector against evil powers.
As a fob, this incredible intaglio pendant would have previously been used as a wax seal. You can, of course, still use your intaglio with sealing wax should you so choose.
