A rare, larger-scale antique 18ct gold bolt ring, reimagined into a signature ICONS diamond connector, set with a beautifully bright old mine cut diamond in a yellow gold cut-down collet.
Originally a functional clasp, this piece has been transformed into a versatile styling element — designed to extend chains, hold pendants or act as a feature clasp within a layered look. The generous scale of the bolt ring paired with the presence of the diamond makes this an especially impactful piece, both visually and functionally.
The diamond itself is full of antique character — a lively old mine cut weighing approximately 0.56ct, with a soft faint yellow tone (J/K) and a distinctive large open culet, giving it that sought-after glow and depth. The cut-down collet setting enhances its presence while remaining true to antique techniques.
Crafted in warm-toned 18ct gold, the bolt ring retains its original integrity, with a French eagle head hallmark on the bail. It opens to approximately 3mm, allowing most pendants and lockets to be attached with ease.
Condition is very good antique. The tongue can occasionally stick if pulled fully open, but releases easily with a gentle push — best used opening to around 90%, which still provides full functionality.
A standout example within my signature connector designs, both for its scale and the size of the diamond — a rare find in this format.
